
ER PARTNERS WITH DUO ENTERTAINMENT ON 3YR LIVE EVENTS DEAL FOR BASIL BRUSH
London September 25th 2007 - Entertainment Rights Plc, the UK’s leading global media group specialising in the ownership of children’s and family programming, characters and brands today announced a multi-year partnership with West End producers Duo Entertainment to produce Live Events for Basil Brush® .
This partnership extends the relationship which saw Duo work with Entertainment Rights in producing Basil’s 2006/07 theatre tour of “The Fox Factor” and other customised shows for theme parks. Duo’s Directors, Richard Cadell and Barrie C Stead have been overwhelmed by the versatility and popularity of Basil Brush® and are delighted to be developing a long term strategy for the brand in collaboration with Entertainment Rights.
This will include a brand new nationwide theatre tour of “Basil of the Caribbean”, which commenced September 2007, Pantomimes from 2008 and summer residencies in leisure attractions across the UK.
A new 13 part series of The Basil Brush Show™ began airing on CBBC on Friday September 7th 2007 and the show is scheduled to repeat every following Friday on BBC1. The agreement with the BBC brings the total number of episodes of The Basil Brush Show™ under license to 78, with a long term broadcast platform secured. The Basil Brush Show™ is the Number 1 rated children’s sitcom in the UK airing on CBBC. Basil is an established core BBC character and regularly appears as a presenter on CBBC; CBBC on BBC1 and CBBC Xtra and has appeared on Celebrity Weakest Link on BBC 2, Comic Relief on BBC1 as well as featuring in live website chats for the CBBC website.
