Fat Albert is an everyday hero. With his friends, the Cosby kids, the series follows the adventures of this group of resourceful and unpredictable adolescents as they grow up in an urban American neighbourhood in the 1970's.
It revolves around daily life lessons learnt by Fat Albert and his friends - Weird Harold, Rudy, Dumb Donald, Russell, Bucky and Mushmouth, as they share valuable childhood experiences.
Live action segments, featuring Bill Cosby himself, bridge the animation throughout the show. Ground-breaking in its concept, this show was originally written with a team of educational and psychological advisors, which ensured issues faced by kids in everyday situations were tackled. The same issues of safety, responsibility, prejudice, family, conflict and school are relevant today.
